An international look at clinical information models: how uniquely Dutch is our approach?
The Netherlands is rethinking the role of clinical information models (zibs) within its health information systems. This raises a key question: are zibs too Dutch and too localized to align with international standards and perhaps not future-proof?
To explore this, we interviewed experts from nine countries. How do they approach clinical modelling? What role do clinical information models play in their health systems? And most importantly: what can we learn to help evolve the Dutch approach in step with global developments? And which lessons can we share in return? It was reassuring to hear that many of the interviewed countries are actively looking to the Netherlands for inspiration. You can now read all findings and recommendations in this report.
